Bite’s Lush Lip Tint

If there’s one thing my make up collection is lacking, it’s Autumn lip colours. I’m pretty sure the reason is because I’m a bit intimidated by lipsticks in general. Something about the opacity and zero wiggle room for error terrifies me. That’s why I generally opt for tinted lip balms and sheer lipsticks. I thought it’s time I ventured into the berry and vampy red shades.

Bite Beauty Lush Lip Tint in Raspberry – $28.00 CAD

Bite can do no wrong when it comes to lip products. Bite products are all made with food grade ingredients, paraben and sulfate free, and have no GMO’s. The lush lip tints are somewhat of a cross between a lipstick and a balm. These lip tints are considerably more pigmented than your run of the mill tinted balm.

The packaging is really nice. A matte black tube with a snap closure. Think of the Fresh Sugar treatments (not cruelty free) but without the twist closure. The packaging feels really sturdy, and has a significant weight to it. The product comes with 0.13 oz of product which is slightly more than a MAC lipstick.

The lip tints are packed full of lip loving ingredients. The ‘B’ in the center of the lipstick is full of resveratrol, which is an antioxidant found in red wine. The formula is absolutely fantastic. The colour sits really great on the lips, it feels nourishing and comfortable, and it doesn’t accentuate any dryness on my lips. I can easily slap this on without a mirror and not have to worry about it being all over the place. You can dab this on for a stained effect, or you can really build it up to create a deep and dramatic lip.

The shade is absolutely beautiful. It’s a gorgeous berry that doesn’t lean too cool or too warm. It looks so beautiful and festive. I cannot wait for the cooler weather to hit so I can wear this all the time. Feels like a balm, applies like a balm, looks like a lipstick. What a great product. The smell and taste of this product are so delicious as well. This lip tint gets an A+ from me!

BB Lips

If you’re asking me, this whole BB, CC, even DD cream thing has gotten totally out of hand. Brands and product development companies really took this idea and ran with it. It’s actually hard to find a brand that doesn’t have some sort of CC cream or whatever they’re making these days. Way back in May and I had posted about wanting this BB for Lips by Bite Beauty, and here it is, I finally got my hands on it (with some help).

Bite BB For Lips in ‘Flush’ – $28.00 CAD

I got this little tube as a surprise gift (again, for no reason) from my boyfriend. He reaaally loves to surprise me for no reason, what a guy! He’s been hounding me to make another wishlist post, which I have sworn off because it just gives him ideas, and he doesn’t need to stress himself over going into Sephora and being overwhelmed by all the make up. Anyways, of course I’m appreciative, and I really wanted to try this product.

Bite Beauty calls this a 5-1 lip product, it’s supposed to prime, protect with SPF, revitalize, repair, and restore natural softness of lips. These are some massive claims. To me, this is a very sheer lip balm that glides over the lips really nicely. It gives just the slightest hint of colour, smells great, and doesn’t settle weirdly into my lips. No weird collection of pigment gathers at the corner of my lips, it just stays put for about an hour or so. This product has the same smell as the Agave Lip Masque, a kind of vanilla scent that smells very sweet and really lovely.

There’s not a ton of colour pay off, but the balm feels really nice and moisturizing on the lips. It’s great for minimal make up days, and as it contains SPF 15, it would be great for beach days. I would, however, be weary of carrying this around on hot sunny days, as mine has *almost* melted a few times in this heat wave Vancouver has been experiencing. For a 28 dollar product, you also don’t get very much in the tube. I’ve already used up a considerable amount and I’ve only had mine for a couple of weeks.

Overall I really enjoy this product, and can’t wait to delve into more Bite Beauty products!

Boyfriend’s Review #1

DSC_0005Today’s post is going to be a little bit different. Not only is my boyfriend super supportive of this blog, he’s even taken an interest in reading what I post. He came up with this brilliant idea to write a review on a product he recently bought and has been testing out. I thought it was a great idea to get a guy’s take on a skin care product. So, without me blabbering on forever, here’s JP’s post!

So in a twist of fate my amazing girl friend decided to let me do a review on her blog so if I screw this up terribly you have me to blame!

The product is BITE’s Agave Lip Mask that was actually recommended to me by Brianna. Warning to anyone out there looking for fancy or cute packaging this is not for you. It comes in a very bland dark grey bottle and actually looks pretty masculine, which for me is great as I can leave it out or even take it with me without people thinking I like wearing lip gloss around.

I’ve always had really bad lips, constantly peeling and consistently dry. Obviously being a guy I do not take the best care of them and thought I should probably start with the suggestion from Brianna. I breathe predominantly out of my mouth during the night (nose issues) which contributes to their dry state. By simply applying right before I go to bed I noticed an almost immediate difference. Within about 2 weeks my lips were doing dramatically better. I even feel it on my lips when I wake up which for 8-10 hours after is pretty awesome. The consistency is a little thick and gooey but that just helps it stay on longer.

So if you’re looking for a great lip mask that works fast and is really effective at rejuvenating your lips but don’t mind giving up a little by not having flashy packaging then I would definitely pick this up.

Cheers for reading!
